My First Open Water Fish Of 2015

My dad and I decided to take a trip to Hale Reservation in Westwood for our first open water fishing trip of the year. At Hale Reservation, there are three bodies of water known as Powissett Pond, Noanet Pond, and Storrow Pond. We checked out Storrow Pond first, which is known as the "trout pond," since they stock it every year. Although the pond was beautiful and out of the way of people and noise, I only managed to hook a tree, having to cut my line and sacrifice my Rooster Tail. We moved on to Noanet Pond, the biggest of the three. In the relatively shallow water, I was throwing a floating Rapala minnow, while my dad used a Daredevle spoon. My dad got a nibble on his spoon so I switched to a yellow and red dardevle. After only a few casts, I hooked up with my first open water fish of the year, a largemouth bass weighing a pound or so. Although I only caught the one fish, it was a good day of fishing.
