West Waushacum Pond & The Quag - 7/6/2014
On the water at 0530 this morning. Paddled slowly down the left side of the pond to the small water way that goes from West Washacum Pond into The Quag. Fish along the right side of the pond along the lily pads and weed banks. Caught a Largemouth Bass in the 1 lb range. Fished more, got some bites, but didn't land anymore here. Went back into West Waushacum Pond and fished along the north end of the pond. Caught another bass, very small. Paddled to the West side of the island in the middle of the pond. Anchored on the top of the point created by the island and cast a lipless crankbait down into the wind into deeper water and brought it back into the fish holding just down the point. Caught two more small bass doing that. Paddled to the east side of the pond to work along the edge. Caught another small bass. I came to this pond yesterday, but the wind was breaking the waves over the bow of my kayak so I left and came back today. I like working this pond, it has a lot of different things. Plenty of cover for fish, islands, banks, shore cover. I look forward to learning a lot more about this place in the future.
